I have been planning to visit Thailand for quite some time. It started when I watched a movie called The Beach with Leonardo DiCaprio that’s about a young man who travels to Bangkok and comes across a secret map. The map leads to a remote location where a secret society of global travelers live.
They create a private community on an isolated island off the coast of Phuket, also know as the Phi Phi Islands. I was instantly hooked and started researching Thailand. Soon enough, I found more than just the Phi Phi Islands; I discovered jungle treks, beautiful Buddhist temples, an incredibly hospitable culture, and gorgeous landscapes. I was sold on Thailand. I knew that I needed to take a journey through this Southeast Asian country, so I immediately booked a flight. I haven’t looked back since.
The only places I have been in Asia are China and Taiwan, so this will be a great addition to the list!
My journey is starting in Bangkok, then off to the Phi Phi Islands (have to visit Leo’s spot). I will then go to Chiangmai, where I plan to go on a jungle trek and see what Thailand’s indigenous people have to offer. Like always, all my trips are very improvisational and I typically figure it out as I go along, which always generates the best stories. Everything we do is extremely spontaneous. This is the way I have always looked at life and I’ve realized there is no better way to live. The future can wait, live for the moment, and enjoy the deviated paths this great world has to offer.
I am about to hop on my flight. 14 hours to Tokyo and then another 7 hours to Bangkok from there. See you in Bangkok, here we go!
